“Torpedão Campeão” campaign awarded at MMA LatAm Awards, in Los Angeles

TIMWE, a multinational company that operates in the mobile marketing, mobile entertainment and mobile money areas, was just recognized with a Smartie, the most prestigious global mobile marketing award, given by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA).
At the ceremony which took place at the MMA Forum in Los Angeles, the Portuguese company won the category of Direct Response, in the Latin American region, with the campaign “Torpedão Campeão”, launched last year in a partnership with Globo and several local mobile carriers: Vivo, Claro, TIM and Oi.
“Torpedão Campeão’s” campaign aimed to promote the usage of sms in the Brazilian market. “Torpedão Campeão” offered Brazilian mobile users the chance to acquire packs of 30 SMS at a discount and was endorsed by famous Globo stars’ Faustão, Cissa Guimarães and Adriana Colin who extolled mobile users on the virtues of SMS. Lasting for 3 months, the campaign involved 23 million mobile users who subsequently sent over 115 million messages. At the peak of “Torpedão Campeão”, 3 million SMS per day and 4.000 SMS per second were sent.
Smarties, the new designation of the MMA annual awards, were created to recognize the significant contribution from the global mobile marketing industry. Nominations for the Mobile Marketing Association Awards recognize the commitment and accomplishments of the world’s leading companies and individuals in the mobile marketing industry.
