Ring-back tones, also known as waiting rings or simply RBTs, are commercialized by mobile operators. RBTs are included in the agreements TIM w.e. has with record companies and other digital music rights providers. These agreements allow TIM w.e. to deliver an extensive portfolio of ring-back tones to mobile operators across the world.
Mobile operators consider RBTs as an important revenue stream, comparable to that of the very successful "real tones".
